Privacy Policy
At Wayora (“Wayora,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), we take your privacy and roadside safety with utmost seriousness. This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal data, high-precision GPS telemetry, incident reports, and communication records are collected, utilized, and safeguarded when you access the Wayora mobile application and our website (wayoraway.com).
1. Information We Collect
A. Precise Geolocation Data
To deliver real-time road hazard radar warnings (e.g. landslides, severe potholes, waterlogging) and to compute proximity for peer assistance, Wayora collects your device’s precise GPS coordinates, heading, altitude, and ground speed.
- Foreground Location: Captured while using the map navigation, reporting obstacles, or participating in active carpool convoys.
- Background Location (Optional & Explicit): When you explicitly enable “Highway Radar Sentinel Mode” or “Convoy Active Ride Mode,” location telemetry runs in the background so that you receive audio and haptic warnings about upcoming hazards even when your screen is locked.
B. 10 km Biker SOS Distress Beacon Data
When you tap the SOS Beacon in the app, your distress payload is generated. This includes your exact latitude/longitude, vehicle model (e.g., motorcycle, sedan, 4x4), selected emergency type (empty fuel, snapped chain, mechanical breakdown, altitude hypoxia, or puncture), and timestamp.
C. User Profile & Incident Contributions
Your account name, phone number, vehicle details, and community incident reports (hazard category, photo uploads, upvotes/downvotes verifying hazard validity) are associated with your profile to maintain community confidence ratings.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Real-Time Hazard Alerting: Matching your GPS corridor with road incidents verified within your travel radius.
- 10 km Peer-to-Peer Distress Broadcast: Transmitting your emergency location strictly to active Wayora travelers within a 10-kilometer radius so they can render immediate assistance.
- Convoy Route Synchronization: Calculating route similarity percentage for travelers driving the same highway stretch.
- High-Altitude AMS Safety: Monitoring barometric altitude on Himalayan passes (Ladakh, Spiti) to trigger oxygen can locator alerts if rapid elevation thresholds are exceeded.
3. Data Retention & Security
All network communication is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS 1.3 / HTTPS and WSS (WebSockets). Sensitive spatial data is processed within PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases protected by strict session authentication.
Expired road hazards automatically purge from the public radar upon verified road clearance to ensure map accuracy.
4. Your Rights & Control
- You can disable location tracking at any time through your Android/iOS device permissions.
- You have the right to request deletion of your account and associated incident history.
